Wesley Mission believes in taking the good news of God’s love and saving power to others as Jesus commanded “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’” (Matthew 28:19-20 TNIV)
The gospel, or good news, is the central message of Christianity: that Jesus was the Son of God sent to earth to be the saviour of all humanity and that His life, death and resurrection bring new life. The message to the shepherds declares that the good news is for all people; ‘“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”’ (Luke 2:10-11 TNIV)
Wesley Mission believes that the gospel is for all people and, to that end, we are committed to going to the edges of society—those edges where we encounter strangers and rub shoulders with people outside the church—and finding ways to cross the edges with the good news.
