Guidelines for engaging with Wesley Mission on social media

We love engaging with you online and through social media, and we're active weekdays from at least 8:30am to 5:00pm.

It’s important we work together to maintain a safe environment, respectful of you and your fellow community members. Here are some things to remember when interacting.

Take part

Share photos, videos and stories that inspire and remind us all, every life matters! 

We love hearing about your ideas and successes, stories of hope in your communities and quotes inspiring us all to keep doing all the good we can. We also welcome questions and comments on how we can improve. 

Respect privacy – your own and others’

In our work, we see people at some of the most vulnerable times in their lives. So to protect their privacy, there are some stories and details we simply can’t share publicly.  It’s important you do not post anyone’s personal information – if you do, we’ll have to remove it. You should also think carefully before disclosing your own personal information. 

Be nice

Wesley Mission is about helping people in our communities, so we will delete any inappropriate posts, tweets or comments that are:

  • profane, abusive, defamatory or violent
  • hateful or discriminatory to anyone based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation or political beliefs
  • sexually explicit
  • violations of copyright or intellectual property rights
  • discussions of illegal activity
  • spam, link baiting or files containing viruses that could damage the operation of other people’s computers or mobile devices
  • attacks on specific groups or any comments meant to harass, threaten or abuse an individual
  • promoting commercial products, services, or brands without our knowledge or permission
  • related to confidential cases or legal proceedings.

 

If someone continually disrespects these guidelines, they will be blocked from accessing our social media accounts.
