The lives of prisoners
This week on Wesley Impact! TV we talk to Gillian Begbie from the Kairos Prison Ministry, and the wonderful Robyn Green performs the song, ‘Only You’.
We also look at a new, innovative program partnering residents from Wesley Mission’s Frank Vickery Village and people taking part in Wesley LifeSkills so that both groups can benefit from the social interaction and opportunity to share and learn from each other.
Special guest: Gillian Begbie
Rev Keith Garner talks with Gillian Begbie from Kairos Prison Ministries, a long serving ministry which started in the 1970’s in Florida in the United States of America.
Kairos uses ‘hands-on’ activities to help bring rehabilitation to the incarcerated and to support those affected to find hope and make positive choices. Kairos is active in over 400 prisons worldwide, and operate in 20 jails across Australia. Through over 2,000 volunteers around Australia, they reach out to male and female inmates saying "You have a choice". To the family and friends of those inmates, they say, "You are not alone", and to juvenile offenders, they say, "There's a better way ahead".
Guest performer: Robyn Green
We welcome Robyn Green, who has been sharing her music for over 30 years, she sings for us now, Only You.
Keith’s message: Before the buzzer
We live in a world where we expect swift answers, not unlike the many quiz shows where the answer needs to be in before the buzzer. Prayer is a different matter.
This week, Rev Keith Garner reads from Luke 18 and discusses the meaning of prayer.
