If you\u2019ve experienced intimate partner domestic violence \u2013 we can support you.\u00a0<\/a><\/p> The Escaping Violence Payment (EVP) is an Australian Government program, designed to help people aged 18 and above who have:<\/p> This\u202fincludes violent or threatening\u202fbehaviour\u202fthat is:\u202f<\/span><\/p> The EVP program can provide:\u202f<\/p> We believe everybody has a right to establish a safe home free from violence.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t You can:<\/p> If you\u2019re in danger call 000, or for immediate support or advice call 1800RESPECT<\/a><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t The Escaping Violence Payment program offers financial assistance and confidential support for people who are\u00a0leaving or\u00a0have recently left a violent intimate partner.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t The Escaping Violence Payment\u00a0(EVP)\u00a0program can help you re-establish safety after leaving a violent partner.<\/p> You might be eligible for financial assistance and depending on your needs, other goods,\u00a0services and wrap-around support.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Visit Escaping Violence Payment | Uniting Vic.Tas (unitingvictas.org.au)<\/a> or call 1800 EVP EVP<\/a> (1800 387 387<\/a>).<\/p> Contact a family violence support service or other support service who can help you determine your eligibility, make an application to us on your behalf, and assist with processing times.<\/p> Visit this page<\/a> to learn more about how the EVP is being delivered in Australia.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t As an Australian Government program, some eligibility criteria are in place.<\/p> For example, you may be asked to provide the following:<\/p> We will determine your eligibility as quickly as possible.\u00a0However,\u00a0if\u00a0you are in a situation of danger now, please call 000.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p> If\u00a0you are experiencing family violence and need immediate support or advice, call:\u00a0<\/p> \u00a0<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t You can also be referred by a family violence support service or other support service. You can speak to your support service about being referred on your behalf.<\/p> They can call 1800 EVP EVP<\/a> (1800 387 387<\/a>) with the following details:<\/p> \u2022 details or evidence of your experience of FDV (if available) A referral from a specialist service provider will assist with eligibility and processing times.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t You may be eligible if:<\/p> \u2022 you are over 18 years of age You will need to provide information about your situation and be an Australian citizen.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t No one will know that you have accessed the service outside of the relevant service providers.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p> When you get in contact,\u00a0you\u2019ll\u00a0be able to tell us how we can communicate with you safely\u00a0so that\u00a0your enquiry will not be discovered by a perpetrator.\u00a0We have a\u00a0privacy policy\u00a0and will not disclose your details.\u00a0<\/p> \u00a0<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Yes. Privacy, confidentiality and safety will always be\u00a0maintained.\u00a0<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t You\u00a0may be referred to other support services, such as\u00a0specialist family\u00a0violence services.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p> The EVP\u2019s eligibility criteria is set by the Australian Government, so Wesley Mission staff are unable to waive it. If you aren\u2019t eligible, you may be referred to a family violence support service or other specialist support service.<\/p> You may find help, support and counselling services from domestic violence services or other support programs.
