having a disability and 2.7 million Australians classified as informal carers. Carers of people with disability do the best that they can to provide a stable environment but other areas in life\u2014finances, employment and personal time\u2014are no longer a priority. Our research reveals that the caring role has a significant impact and carers find that life is extremely complex, their freedom and options disappear and any sense of self is compressed.
