Be the light in someone’s darkest moment

A desperate call every 28 seconds… will you help answer the next one?

In a time of uncertainty and growing pressures, many Australians face their darkest moments feeling isolated and overwhelmed.

For a young man like Leon*, who battled frightening voices alone in a park - and was too scared to go out for food or medical help - your support can be the difference between despair and hope.

When someone reaches out in crisis, trained volunteers at Lifeline Sydney & Sutherland are ready to listen, support, and guide them toward safety. But these vital calls come every 28 seconds, and the need is growing.

          You can bring vital connection

Volunteer Crisis Supporter Liz picked up Leon’s call.

“It was a voice of a young man in distress,” says Liz, who helped Leon find the courage to get help. “Our conversation helped him move from fear and isolation to connection and recovery.”

Your gift will bring real people together to prevent suicide through crisis support, care and a path forward.

“In a world that can be scary, it’s an extraordinary privilege to walk alongside someone in their darkest moments and just be present.” — Liz, Volunteer Crisis Supporter at Lifeline Sydney & Sutherland.
