You can help provide a child like Molly* with warmth, comfort, and the support her family needs to escape homelessness this winter.
It was two days before Molly Clarke’s birthday. She should have been preparing to celebrate with her loved ones, but instead, she and her two little brothers were out in the cold after their family was unexpectedly evicted from their home.
“We were told we had just two weeks to find a home and get out,” said Molly’s mum, Jenny*...
With nowhere to go, Molly and her family were forced to squeeze into a tiny camper van. They ended up living there for months.
“The camper van took a huge toll on all of us. Molly became so depressed and anxious that she stopped going to school.”
Desperate to get her family out of the camper van and into a suitable home, Jenny got in touch with Wesley Mission, “And they’ve been nothing but a blessing ever since.”
Today, Molly and her family are staying in warm, secure and comfortable accommodation while they continue their search for permanent housing.
“The kids love it here. They’ve really come back out of their shells.”
Your gift today can help shelter another family like Molly’s from the cold this winter.
As the rental and cost-of-living crisis worsens, more families like Molly’s are struggling to keep a roof over their heads.
An estimated 3.3 million Australians are now living below the poverty line, including 1 in 6 children.1 Rental prices continue to rise, meanwhile, in January of this year, national rental vacancies dropped to near-record lows of 1%2 – making it increasingly difficult for low-income families to secure a home.
With the support of generous people like you, Wesley Mission will continue to offer relief to families in need.
But as winter approaches and more people call upon our services, we urgently need your help to address this growing need.
Please donate now to give a family a place of warmth, comfort and safety while we help them secure stable, permanent housing.
