For over 20 years, Wesley Vocational Institute in Wollongong and Illawarra has provided people with accredited and non-accredited training in the community services and care sectors, supporting people of all ages, regardless of their education or employment background. If you’re interested in building a rewarding career in the community services, we can help you gain a qualification and become job-ready with the skills and confidence you need to launch your career.

Working closely with community services providers, we provide work placements so you can develop practical skills and build work experience within a real workplace. Work placements also allow you to work towards your qualification and set you on your ideal career path.

The NSW Department of Education has recognised our organisation as a High Performing Provider. With our training programs, we’re committed to provide opportunities to our students and help you achieve your goals. We work with local service providers in your community, so you can explore employment pathways best suited for you.

  • Training and employment pathways.
  • Mixed-mode learning options with face-to face classes and flexible online learning.
  • Work experience placements coordinated by Wesley Vocational Institute.
  • Supported learning and additional student support services available.

To enter our training program, you need basic English language skills. You’ll be required to complete language, literacy and numeracy assessments when we meet with you. If you need help, our trainers will be happy to offer support for you to build these skills.

You’ll also be required to undertake a criminal/police record check and meet a minimum work requirement.

The training is subsidised by the NSW Government. Student fees may apply.
