Executive General Manager Children and Family Services
Contract type: Full-time
About us
Wesley Mission is a high profile, multi-faceted Christian organisation making a real difference in the community. We work with the most disadvantaged in our community, providing over 200 services across New South Wales (NSW) and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) – from aged care, homeless services, child and family care, counselling, employment, training and education, through to health services.
Our vision is “A Spirit-led disciple-making movement: doing all the good we can because every life matters”.
About the Portfolio
Our Children and Family Services portfolio strengthens families and supports children and young people through early-intervention services that prevent escalation into crisis or statutory systems. It spans a continuum of support – from universal early childhood programs through to targeted help for families experiencing vulnerability. Services include Families Together (family support and parenting programs), Children & Youth Services and Out-of-School Hours Care (OOSH), and we are looking for a leader who will identify further opportunities to serve children and families in NSW.
About the Role
We are seeking an Executive General Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership of the Children and Family portfolio. You will be the internal and external face of Wesley Mission’s children’s and family services – driving high-quality, evidence-based services that build family resilience and reduce the need for statutory intervention, while leading and growing a values-aligned team and managing funding contracts and portfolio performance.
This is a child-related position. The role leads services that engage directly with children and young people – including out-of-school-hours care, children’s and youth programs and family support – and is accountable for embedding child-safe, trauma-informed and culturally safe practice across the portfolio. Wesley Mission is a child-safe organisation that provides an environment in which children can feel safe and are valued.
