About the team
The Finance team is responsible for statutory accounting, management and external reporting, providing business insights and managing financial systems.
About the role
The purpose of the role is to support organisational decision making through high quality financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, benchmarking, and financial modelling. The role partners with business stakeholders to provide timely, insightful, and forward-looking analysis to support operational, financial, and strategic objectives.
Primary responsibilities:
- Support the coordination and delivery of the annual budget process, including assumptions, templates, validation, and consolidation
- Prepare periodic forecasts incorporating updated performance trends, risks, and assumptions
- Assist with long‑term financial projections and planning models where required
- Assist business units to understand and manage their financial performance against approved budgets and forecasts
- Analyse revenue, expenditure, margin, cost drivers, and key financial metrics at program, portfolio, and organisational level
- Identify trends, risks, opportunities, and emerging issues that impact financial sustainability and performance
- Support the development and maintenance of KPIs and performance dashboards
- Perform internal and external benchmarking to assess cost efficiency, financial performance, and operating effectiveness
- Build and maintain robust financial models to support business cases, investment decisions, funding proposals, and strategic initiatives
- Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess the financial impact of changes in volumes, funding, costs, and assumptions
- Act as a trusted finance partner to business stakeholders, providing advice and guidance on financial matters
- Respond to ad‑hoc financial analysis requests in a timely and structured manner
Essential criteria
To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, including advanced Excel.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
