About the role
As Kitchen Hand/Café all rounder, you will work with the Chef to provide meal options for village residents and other customers. The Kitchen Hand is responsible for food preparation, assisting the Chef with cooking of meal offerings, serving, and maintaining a clean kitchen. You will also assist with front of house café and barista coffee.
This position covers Monday to Friday service between 8.30am and 2.30pm. From time to time there may be catering demands such as morning teas, events, and meeting lunch plates.
The successful applicant will have:
The ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Experience with food preparation and cooking
Barista skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
Ability to follow directions and complete tasks independently.
Understand safe work practices and food safety/hygiene.
Work to set time frames to complete jobs in a timely and efficient manner
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Essential criteria
Desirable criteria
Experience working in an aged care setting.
Qualifications or training in food preparation and cooking
First aid certificate
Barista trained
