About the role
As a casual OOSH Educator, you will support the delivery of before and after school care programs at Hamilton North Public School. You will work as part of a small, collaborative team to create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children.

You will support daily routines, supervise play and activities, and build respectful, professional relationships with children, families, and colleagues. A strong understanding of appropriate boundaries, supervision, and child safe practices is essential in this role.

Our Hamilton North service is licenced for 60 children and is in a dedicated hub within the school.

We are seeking enthusiastic, dependable Educators who are committed to child safety, positive relationships, and high-quality care.

You will bring energy, patience, and professionalism to your work, and understand the responsibility that comes with working directly with children. You are comfortable following policies, maintaining clear boundaries, and contributing to a culture where children feel safe, heard, and respected.

Essential criteria

  • Genuine interest in working with school aged children in a child safe environment
  • Ability to engage children in safe, inclusive, and age-appropriate activities
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Current Employee Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain
  • Willingness to complete child protection training and follow all child safe policies
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Educators and leadership
  • Strong communication skills with children, families, and colleagues


Desirable criteria

  • Certificate III or IV in Children’s Services or willingness to undertake a traineeship
  • Interest in completing a traineeship in School Age Education and Care
  • First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification or willingness to obtain
  • Previous experience in OOSH or working with school aged children
  • Experience facilitating games, sport, or creative activities
  • Working knowledge of the National Quality Framework and My Time, Our Place
  • Basic computer skills
