About us

Wesley Mission is a large, high-profile, multi-faceted Christian organisation making a real difference in the community. We work with the most disadvantaged in our community by providing over 200 services, including aged care, homeless services, child and family care, counselling, employment, training and education, and health services.

Our Vision is “A Spirit disciple-making movement: doing all the good we can because every life matters”.

About the program

Lifeline Sydney & Sutherland is one of 42 accredited Lifeline Centres across Australia, providing critical support to more than 40,000 people each year through the 13 11 14 crisis support service. Lifeline is a trusted name in mental health and crisis intervention, synonymous with hope and help for those experiencing distress. We take pride in this responsibility and actively engage with our community wherever our expertise can make a meaningful difference.

It achieves its purpose by connecting with key community sectors to strengthen relationships and awareness; building long-term partnerships across the region to enhance service reach; and maintaining a strong volunteer base through multiple recruitment and training intakes annually.

Services include telephone crisis support, suicide bereavement support groups, and mental health and well-being education. As part of Wesley Mission’s suicide prevention initiatives, Lifeline Sydney & Sutherland continues to expand its volunteer network and broaden its suite of community support services.

Its work is inspired by the organisation’s vision, guided by its mission, informed by its strategy and underpinned by its values.

About the role

The Regional Coordinator, Sutherland, is to serve as a senior on-site leader, guiding a dedicated team in fulfilling Lifeline’s mission of providing crisis support to individuals throughout the Sutherland Shire, broader New South Wales, and beyond. This position is both dynamic and multifaceted, demanding flexibility and resilience, as each day at Lifeline presents new challenges and opportunities.

Based at our Wesley Mission site in Sylvania, the Regional Coordinator oversees rostering, community engagement, and fundraising initiatives throughout southern Sydney. The position demands a balance between people leadership and operational management, ensuring smooth processes while fostering a positive, collaborative team environment. Success in this role requires strong organisational skills, the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and experience in business development. The Regional Coordinator plays a key role in securing financial support for Lifeline’s services and must be confident in engaging stakeholders and encouraging fundraising efforts.

While this is not a clinical or counselling position, the work directly supports our crisis support teams in delivering essential services to the community. Through strategic leadership and community connection, the Regional Coordinator helps sustain and grow Lifeline’s impact across the region.
