About the program

Wesley LifeForce provides suicide prevention services that educate and empower local communities, supporting people most at risk. Established in 1995, Wesley LifeForce began as a response to the growing number of suicides in Australia. Wesley LifeForce delivers suicide prevention training to educate and equip Australians with the tools to recognise and help someone who is at risk. Since 2002, we have provided suicide prevention skills training to more than 50,000 people in metropolitan, regional, rural and remote Australia.

 

About the role

This is a rewarding and impactful role delivering Wesley LifeForce suicide prevention with a strong focus on community training in South Australia and supporting a national program. Alongside funded community work, you’ll help grow our commercial training nationally by building partnerships with corporates and businesses.

Working autonomously within a supportive national team, you’ll engage with community networks and services.

You’ll bring solid training or facilitation experience, mental health training experience is highly regarded, and comprehensive training in Wesley Mission’s programs will be provided.

Reporting to the National Training Manager in Adelaide, this role works closely with colleagues across SA and nationally, and requires frequent intrastate and interstate travel.

 

Essential criteria

  • experience working in mental health or counselling or suicide prevention
  • demonstrated experience in delivering effective adult education programs
  • superior facilitation/presentation skills
  • skilled in building and nurturing relationships with stakeholders, partners, and community organisations
  • skilled in engaging stakeholders and partners to increase awareness and uptake of fee-for-service offerings
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to work in a team environment and autonomously
  • excellent organisational skills and the capacity to work with minimal supervision
  • proficiency in digital tools and technology for communication and task management
  • availability for frequent intrastate and interstate travel
  • current driver’s licence.

 

Desirable criteria

  • current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • passionate attitude to adult training and education
  • experience working with CALD communities
  • accreditation as an ASIST or Mental Health First Aid trainer
  • cultural awareness and sensitivity.
