Informed by the latest research in suicide prevention, Wesley LifeForce has developed a quality suite of suicide prevention training. Our Suicide Prevention for Disability Support Work training equips participants with essential skills to recognise and respond to a person living with a disability who may be experiencing mental health distress and who may be at risk of suicide.
This workshop is open to all front-line workers.
Two-hour program overview:
- Safe use of language
- Australian suicide statistics
- Risk factors and protective factors
- Warning signs
- Supporting someone and active listening
- How to ask about suicide
- Safety planning
- Engaging in self-care practice.
