Families Together (formerly Family Preservation) is an early intervention program supporting children and young people to remain safe within their family units.
Who it’s for
The program is designed to help families with children or teenagers (aged 0-17) who are at risk of entering, or escalating within, the statutory child protection system.
Families Together is offered across Western Sydney and Nepean Blue Mountains, and South Western Sydney, spanning from Penrith, Hawkesbury, through to Blacktown, Fairfield and Liverpool.

Wesley Mission Families Together provides targeted early intervention services that empower vulnerable families to achieve positive outcomes, including:
Reducing and preventing child abuse and neglect in the home.
Improving the overall wellbeing of children in the family to ensure they grow up in safe, nurturing environments, free from abuse and neglect.
Empowering families by strengthening parenting practices.
Safeguarding children and adolescents from harm, ensuring they thrive through the support of strong, nurturing, and responsive relationships with their parents.
Improving family well-being helps reduce parents' stress and enhances their ability to focus on personal growth.

Our support services
Wesley Mission Families Together (formerly Family Preservation) focuses on delivering tailored support services to strengthen and empower families. Our practitioners use case management intervention and home visiting over an 12-month period.
Wesley Mission Families Together has a selection of approaches to support vulnerable children and their families. All practitioners are trained through a continuous learning model and coaching environment. Our Families Together approaches include:
Family Group Conferencing
Foundations for Change
This evidence-based approach supports families through behavioural change. All staff are trained to do so.
SafeCare
SafeCare is delivered in the home usually over an 18-20-week period focusing on health, safety and building child-parent relationships.
Family Star Plus
A scaling model of assessment used to measure family progress across defined domains supporting practitioners to partner with families toward self-determined and purposeful goals.
Cultural support
Support designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, delivered in collaboration with the Community Migrant Resource Centre to ensure culturally appropriate assistance.
