    Who it’s for? 

    The Wesley Aunties & Uncles Mentoring program is designed for children up to 12 years old living in challenging circumstances. Our mentoring services supports children facing difficulties, such as:

      Social or emotional isolation.

      Lack of extended family support.

      Single-parent households or grandparents as carers.

      Families affected by drug or alcohol misuse, mental health challenges, or domestic violence.

      Significant loss or change, including a parent in Out-of-Home Care.

      Any child that is facing challenging circumstances at home which affect how much direct one-on-one attention a carer is able to give a child. 

    The program provides children with mentors who act as role models and trusted companions to help them thrive in a nurturing and supportive environment. It gives children the opportunity to build lasting relationships, develop life skills, and grow in a supportive environment.

      Our support services

      Wesley Aunties & Uncles is a preventive, early intervention program based on the extended family model. Volunteer mentors become a significant part of a child’s life, with many relationships continuing into adulthood. The program offers:

      Monthly mentoring
      Children spend one day or weekend a month with their mentor.

      Engaging activities help develop social and life skills.

      Long-term guidance
      Mentors commit to a minimum of three years, fostering stable and dependable relationships.
