Wesley Youth Mentoring matches adult volunteers to young people who are going through a process of change, growth and development. The program recruits, trains and supports volunteer mentors.
Mentoring is one-to-one relationship between a young person and an older adult who is focused on the young person’s growth and development. Different from counselling, mentoring is less formal and more relational. Wesley Youth Mentoring asks its volunteers to commit to meeting face-to-face with a young person approximately four hours a fortnight with regular feedback to the case manager supporting the relationship.
