About the role
Are you a motivated and dynamic trainer & assessor that can deliver and assess accredited training in Community Services packages? Do you love what you do? We are a small Wollongong-based team that believe customer service and quality training are key to developing amazing new and existing employees in an industry that we are all very passionate about. This full time role includes NFP salary packaging plus super, access to a pool vehicle, varied training locations, office in a central Wollongong location, off street parking, trainer VET (ITAB, VELG etc) support /development and a great team of colleagues. Our full time Wollongong region trainer will also have a larger team network across our other offices in Sydney, Newcastle and the Mid-North Coast.
Ideally you will possess a sound understanding of the VET industry and have experience in gathering quality evidence during the assessment process that will enable you to hit the ground running. You will also be familiar with the challenges of delivering nationally accredited training in various environments including the workplace, classroom and e-Learning. For this role you need to be a creative flexible trainer assessor, love variety and enjoy working with a range of learner groups that will include the long term unemployed and CALD cohorts, as well as the currently employed.
Your knowledge of the recognition process will allow you to consider a person’s existing set of skills and knowledge to design a learning program that is adaptable to each student’s needs. You will have current experience in your chosen field of training.
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (must hold upgraded units TAELLN401 and TAEASS502)
- at least 80 hours evidenced currency within your specialty industry; within last two years
- related package qualifications in the industry or demonstrated ability to Skills Map to relevant Units of Competency
- demonstrated experience delivering quality training and assessment in VET
- evidence of continuing professional development in your specialty industry and VET for the next 12 months
- current driver’s license and transport
Training Qualifications required include:
- CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support
- CHC32015 – Certificate III in Community Services
- CHC42015 – Certificate IV in Community Services
Any of the following will be highly regarded:
- CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability
- CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support
- CHC52015 – Diploma of Community Services
