About the role

As the Senior Educator (2IC), you will work closely with the Service Coordinator to support daily operations, lead the team in their absence, and contribute to the planning and delivery of engaging programs.
You will mentor other Educators, build strong relationships with families and school staff, and help maintain high standards of compliance and care.

Our Riverstone service is licensed for 115 children and located in the school hall of Riverstone Public School. The team is welcoming, energetic, and committed to creating an inclusive environment where children can thrive. This full-time role includes a mix of split shifts and block shifts.

Essential criteria

  • A qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care or School Age Education and Care (or working towards)
  • Sound working knowledge of the National Quality Framework and My Time, Our Place
  • Experience working in a children’s service
  • Demonstrated ability to be encouraging and passionate about providing children with engaging, age-appropriate activities
  • Current (or willingness to obtain) First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis qualifications
  • Current (or willingness to obtain) Child Protection qualification
  • Current (or willingness to obtain) Employee Working with Children Check
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety responsibilities
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Child Safe Standards and a commitment to creating safe, inclusive environments for all children
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office

 

Desirable criteria

  • Previous experience in an OOSH setting
  • Creativity and a flair for designing inclusive and exciting activities
  • Experience leading or facilitating group games, sport, or outdoor play
  • Current driver’s licence
