This October, you’re invited to take on three of the world’s highest mountains in support of Wesley Mission’s mental health awareness and support services, from the ease of your doorstep.
Climb Kosciusko, Kilimanjaro or Everest!
For one month, you can either walk, cycle, swim, row or run the equivalent distance to the summit of your chosen peak to raise vital funds for Wesley Mission’s mental health services, including Lifeline Sydney & Sutherland 24/7 crisis support. You’ll also be promoting physical activity to maintain positive mental health and reduce stress, anxiety and depression.
How it works

You can connect your Strava/Apple watch or FitBit to Grassrootz to track your progress. Don’t have a smart watch or fitness tracker? No problem. Just record your distance and post it to your Grassrootz fundraising page.
Get moving for mental health awareness and support services
Did you know over 75 per cent of mental health issues occur before the age of 25?1 Or that one in every five Australians aged 16-85 experience mental illness each year? *
Regular physical activity is shown to build positive mental health, increase emotional wellbeing and reduce mental illness. Exercise not only boosts positive mood, concentration and awareness, but also builds resilience and improves overall physical health.
How you’ll make a difference
It’s been a challenging few years for many Australians. COVID-19, rising living costs and multiple devastating floods have heightened fear and anxiety. People are reaching breaking point and their mental health is suffering. But, together, we can do something about it.
As part of Climb Mountains for Mental Health 2022, you’ll raise vital funds to support Wesley Mission’s range of mental health awareness and support services, including Lifeline Sydney & Sutherland and Wesley LifeForce Networks.
$40 – Answer their call for help: Cover the costs associated with once crisis call to Lifeline Sydney & Sutherland.
$150 – Strengthen communities to fight suicide: Provide vital resources to Wesley Lifeforce Networks working to prevent suicide
$300 – Give people care and understanding: Fund suicide prevention training for 10 people in Wesley Lifeforce Networks.
$500 – Make sure there’s always help on the line: Keep our call centres open for people in crisis, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
$1,200 – Train a volunteer: Donate towards professional training for one volunteer telephone Crisis Supporter. $5,000 will pay for the full training.

Wesley Mission provides a range of mental health awareness and support services that build resilience and literally save lives. But it’s only made possible with the continued support of people just like you. Thank you!
