We’re looking for heroes!
Will you be a hero for kids experiencing homelessness by holding a Heroes for Homelessness (H4H) Day at your school?
We’re calling on generous school communities across NSW to help children experiencing poverty, hunger and homelessness, by registering your interest in holding a mufti day where everyone dresses as their favourite hero!
Your school’s gold coin donations to Wesley Mission, can help provide essentials such as food, shelter, support and other services to help families in need across NSW. You’ll be providing kids in need with a safe place to sleep and enough to eat, especially as we go into the colder months.
Your H4H day is as easy as 1, 2, 3…
Step 1: Set a date for any time between now and National Homelessness Week (1-7 August 2021) then announce your mufti day and request gold coin donations at assemblies, in notes sent to the home, on social media and in your newsletters.
Step 2: Collect donations, bank them and donate to Wesley Mission to help kids facing homelessness and hunger.
Step 3: Take photos of your students dressed up as their favourite hero and upload them onto your social media channels, using the hashtag #heroesforhomelessness.
How your gift can help
$150 can buy family supplies when transitioning from homelessness (blankets, pillows, basic cookware & kitchenware).
$320 can provide families with essential groceries so they don’t go hungry.
$400 can pay for a child’s breakfast for a school term (i.e. $40 a week x 10 weeks of a school term).
$805 can provide a week of accommodation, meals and support to families where mum or dad have lost their job.
