COVID-19: Statement from Wesley Mission – 31 August 2021

NSW Health shared the following update with tenants at 17-19 James Street, Windale today.

 “Further good news, all COVID swabs collected from residents on Monday 30 August were negative. Residents at 17-19 James Street are no longer required to strictly isolate in their units but must adhere to NSW ‘Stay at home’ requirements.”

CEO of Wesley Mission, Rev Stu Cameron, acknowledges the strength of the interagency partnership in supporting tenants.

“We’re thankful for the coordinated response from Hunter New England Health Public Health Unit and Acute Mental Health teams, Department of Communities and Justice, Police and security with our Wesley Mission teams,” says Mr Cameron.

“Our tenants have shown great patience in difficult circumstances, and their partnership has been critical to ensuring the wellbeing of everyone living at this location.”

There will be one final round of testing on Monday, 6 September.
