Wesley Mission to deliver home care and disability services to Northern Rivers region

Clarence Valley Council have announced Wesley Mission as the successful tenderer to provide the services of Clarence Care + Support from July onwards.

Council’s General Manager, Ashley Lindsay said, “Wesley Mission is proposing to continue to provide all current services provided by Clarence Care + Support. It was important to the Council that we could assure clients that they will continue to receive the same service.”

Wesley Mission CEO, the Rev Keith Garner said, “Supporting people in the Northern Rivers region is a natural continuation of the broad range of community services Wesley Mission already offers in Northern NSW. Our aim is to commence providing home care and disability services to clients of Clarence Care + Support from 1 July 2020.”

Wesley Mission already provides home care and disability services to more than 2,500 clients supporting people to have greater choice and to create the life they want.

“This is a great opportunity for Clarence Care + Support to become part of a highly regarded service provider in the sector, offering it greater flexibility in an industry that is experiencing rapid growth and expansion of opportunity”, said Mr Lindsay.

Mr Garner affirms Wesley Mission’s collaborative approach, “We will be working closely with the team from Clarence Care + Support to make the transition process as smooth as possible for both clients and staff.”

“In the last year, people living in Clarence Valley and the broader Northern Rivers region have experienced fires and flood, the impact of needing to socially distance due to COVID-19 and many areas are still in drought.”

“Across NSW this is a time when local communities need additional support to strengthen both their mental and physical health. Wesley Mission provides a wide range of services and is shaped to meet the needs we see in individual communities.”

“For people in Grafton currently facing hardship, we’re able to provide emergency relief to help address immediate basic needs as a safety net in this crisis,” said Mr Garner.

Wesley Mission is a multifaceted Christian organisation providing community services in NSW including aged care, disability services, home care, support for families, training and employment, counselling and mental health amongst a wide range of programs.

Wesley Mission currently provides support for parents and children in Grafton, and has community hubs in Taree and Newcastle to provide direct assistance to regional communities.
