IWD2022: Celebrating remarkable leadership

Stu Cameron writes, “Today is International Women’s Day, and I want to begin the day by acknowledging some of the incredible leaders that I have the privilege to serve alongside at Wesley Mission. Faith-filled women who are critical to shaping who we are.

Of the many influential women at Wesley Mission, the women who are part of the Wesley Community Services Board are top of mind for me.

Tracy Morgan
GAICD, CAHRI, MBA (Macq.)

Tracy is incisive and insightful and Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee. She brings rigour to our work, asking challenging questions that add so much to our decision-making process. In addition to her business acumen, I am often moved by Tracy’s compassion, as she recently organised a prayer gathering to stand with the people of Ukraine. In January, Tracy was announced as the new Australian CEO of World Hope International, tackling poverty both here in Australia and overseas.

Jill Pretty
RN, MN, BN (Admin)

Jill’s background in nursing and experience at the Executive level has seen her become a sector leader, driving critical change in aged care. Because fundamentally, Wesley Mission is all about people, her client-centred approach grounds the Board’s decision-making. Jill is generous and patient, two traits I admire in her deeply.

Tara Reid
BBus (Accounting), Grad Dip Applied Finance, MAICD

Tara joined the Wesley Community Services Board one month after I began as CEO. Her entrepreneurial talents and enthusiasm bring so much to Wesley Mission. She is strategic and committed to social justice, and it’s impossible not to be inspired when you’re around her!

I want to personally thank Tracy, Jill and Tara, and our General Counsel and Company Secretary, Catherine King, for the critical roles they play. I’m indebted to your leadership and energised by our working together – thank you.”
