2009: Up close and personal

The year has seen a need for genuine commitment to the many people in Wesley Mission’s care; people who are otherwise easily forgotten when times get tough, as they have done this year. Wesley Dalmar’s work expanded, meaning more children were able to receive foster care service and work with families and youth saw steady growth. Reduced contracts for employment services presented a significant challenge but helped build resilience in handling tough situations. Wesley Mission also gave attention to services to meet the increasing effects of gambling, financial stress and subsequent family breakdown.
