A place to find answers: Good Friday
This week on Wesley Impact! TV we meet the Rev Michael Thomas and the Rev Dr Keith Garner reflects on Good Friday.
On this highly significant day in the Christian calendar, Uniting Church minister the Rev Michael Thomas reflects on his own journey to faith and his confidence that the Christian faith has the answers to life’s big questions. He speaks about the importance of supporting young people as they search for answers and live out their faith. He relates why on Good Friday he looks towards the hope that is realised on Easter Sunday, and shares that Christian lives must be characterised by both the death and resurrection of Jesus.
Wesley Mission story—Wesley Noreen Towers
Today we hear the story of Lellah, whose family became homeless after her husband fell ill with muscular dystrophy and she needed to step down from her job to care for him. For Lellah and her family of seven children, Wesley Noreen Towers was a haven, a safe place to live until they were able to find more permanent housing. Wesley Noreen Towers also provides support groups and workshops for parents and programs for children.
On this Good Friday, the Rev Dr Keith Garner looks at Isaiah to reflect on the solitary figure spoken of, who brought healing and purpose through his suffering. As people meet in churches around the world, they will reflect sombrely on what God has done for us in Christ. As we consider the profound nature of Christ’s suffering, we see the true nature of God’s love, and hear a message of great hope.
We are privileged to hear from our Music Director, Craig Gower on the show today. Craig is an inspirational and seasoned performer who brings his creativity and artistic talent to Wesley Impact! TV each week. We are also joined by Matt Doeland. Matt is a singer, songwriter, worship leader and speaker with a heart to share God's amazing love.
