Best of 2014: Living with Alzheimer's
This week on Wesley Impact! TV we meet Christine Bryden and the Rev Dr Keith Garner continues to explore Philippians.
Alzheimer’s Australia Ambassador Christine Bryden shares her experience of being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease at the height of her career, and explores the common misconceptions about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. She shares how her Christian faith helped her through this experience and how her illness has given her time to reflect and realise the role she could play in helping others dealing with the challenges of dementia. Christine also talks about the book she has written about her journey, Who will I be when I die?
Wesley Mission story—Wesley In-home Respite
Today we hear the first part of Peter and Vicki’s story, and their experience of Wesley In-home Respite. Vicki tells us about her experience caring for her husband Peter, who has needed full-time care since he suffered a stroke six years ago. She shares how Wesley In-home Respite has helped bring normality to her life and enabled her to continue caring for Peter at home.
The Rev Dr Keith Garner explores what Philippians 2:1-11 shows us about the unity of God’s people in Christ. We consider how Jesus’ power to transform our hearts and minds and his lordship in our lives allows us to share the same heart and mind.
Today we welcome Jordan Worner, a young Australian singer/songwriter. He is passionate about leading people into God's presence through music, and has had opportunity to do so all over the world. We also hear from inspirational Australian singer, Robyn Green.
