Homeless Persons Week, Part 2
This week on Wesley Impact! TV we meet Habitat for Humanity's James Allardice and the Rev Dr Keith Garner explores Matthew.
We meet the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity in New South Wales, James Allardice, who has put his faith into action in the work that he does. James shares his life story from a young boy growing up in a strong Methodist home to a business-savvy young man and, finally, a man who uses his business skills to help house families in need. James reflects on the strong biblical mandate for Christians: that faith must go hand-in-hand with action if we are to truly fulfil what God calls us to do.
Wesley Mission story—Wesley Noreen Towers
At Wesley Mission we see how it can take just a couple of changes in circumstances for life to be turned upside down. Through Lellah’s story we see how homelessness can be only a few steps away for some families. We highlight Wesley Mission’s work in helping families in crisis through Wesley Noreen Towers in Sydney’s south west. This outstanding service transforms the lives of many families each year, providing much needed supported crisis accommodation.
The Rev Dr Keith Garner leads this week’s sermon with a reading from the Gospel of Matthew.
We are pleased to be joined by performers this week Liz Cole and Sheila Mpofu. Liz's remarkable gift for music is well beyond her young years, combining musical talent with poetic lyrics. Sheila is a gifted worship leader and singer who is passionate about spreading the good news of God's love through her music.
