Ministry of care

1 December 2013 Wesley Impact! TV

This week on Wesley Impact! TV we meet the Rev Nigel Rogers and the Rev Dr Keith Garner explores the book of Joshua.

Nigel’s story
The Rev Nigel Rogers is the Senior Minister at Pittwater Uniting Church in Sydney. It is a busy church that oversees ministries from pre-schoolers to older people and operates a special New Life Sport and Fitness Centre. After leaving his former world behind Nigel started working with youth at church and has continued in ministry to become a Senior Minister. He shares his passion for equipping the next generation in the Uniting Church and his views on the future of the church.

Wesley Mission story—Wesley Congregational Life
Wesley Mission’s chaplains offer care and support to people across the whole of the organisation, from homeless centres through to mental health hospitals and family centres. Their role is to provide a listening ear, founded on the principle of offering God’s love through practical means. We take a look at a day in the life of a couple of Wesley Mission’s ministry workers.

Keith's reflection
The Rev Dr Keith Garner leads this week’s sermon on Joshua in the final of a six week series looking at the prophets of the Old Testament.

Guest performers
This week we welcome young Australian performer Liz Cole to the Wesley Impact! TV stage. Liz's remarkable gift for music is well beyond her years, combining musical talent with poetic lyrics. We also welcome Australian jazz pianist, vocalist, composer, music educator, ABC recording artist and APRA Award winner Sharney Russell.
