Richard's brilliant career

16 August 2015 Wesley Impact! TV

This week on Wesley Impact! TV AMP Foundation Chairman Richard Grellman shares insights from a career in the executive world and the Rev Keith Garner explores the Gospel of Luke.

Wesley Family Centre

We take a look at Wesley Family Centre, Quakers Hill, which runs activities for children and parents. The different programs at the centre help parents to connect with their children and with other parents in their local community, and help children with development. Parenting programs at the centre give parents the opportunity to develop general parenting skills, as well as emotional intelligence and skills in behaviour management. Sridevi and Prasngi share how the centre has helped their children overcome challenges, make new friends, and have a cost-free and safe environment to play in.

Richard Grellman shares insights from his career as an executive

This week on Wesley Impact! TV we enjoy the first of a two-part interview with AMP Foundation Chairman Richard Grellman. Richard's career background includes 32 years at KPMG, and his appointment as Tribunal of the Statutory and Other Officers Remuneration Tribunal. While he has experienced many successes in his career, he reflects that his best lessons have been learned through mistakes and situations that didn't run to plan. He also compares his business experience with his position as Chairman of the world governing body for professional surfing, and the importance of passion and intellectual depth in business and in his work in business, charities and other organisations.

Guest performer

Today we welcome Lucy Fisher to the Wesley Impact! TV stage. Lucy has studied and performed classical, jazz, gospel and contemporary music and has over 25 years of teaching and professional singing experience. She has also been one of Hillsong Church's key worship leaders.

Keith's reflection

The Rev Keith Garner opens the Gospel of Luke to explore the account of the centurion who sought healing for his servant. Jesus honoured this man for his demonstration of faith, even though as a Roman soldier he was an unlikely source of faith. In the centurion's willingness to go to all kinds of lengths to save his servant, we see an example for ourselves to follow. As faith transformed this centurion and prompted him to go above and beyond for his servant, faith can also empower us to seek the spiritual and physical wellbeing of others.
