Wesley Mission behind the scenes

1 September 2013 Wesley Impact! TV

This week on Wesley Impact! TV we meet Wesley Mission's Andrew Mitchell and the Rev Dr Keith Garner explores Matthew.

Andrew’s Story
Andrew Mitchell talks with Wesley Mission CEO/Superintendent the Rev Dr Keith Garner about his role as a General Manager at Wesley Mission. Andrew shares how God had trained him for his current role. While his former roles in merchant banking and pastoral ministry prepared him well for service at Wesley Mission, Andrew admits, “It’s the most challenging role I’ve had in my life. Wesley Mission has a wonderful reputation of serving and supporting the community. For me it was important to be part of a Christian initiative where Christian care is provided to people in all sectors, particularly on the margins, to bring people back in connection with the community.”

Wesley Mission story—Lifeline
Fifty years on and the Lifeline story continues at Wesley Mission. While the telephone counselling service has grown to a global entity, Wesley Mission continues to staff and fund three Lifeline offices in the heart of Sydney and surrounds. Today, we take a look back at how it all began.

Keith's reflection
The Rev Dr Keith Garner leads this week’s sermon with a reading from the book of Matthew.
