5 October 2014 Wesley Impact! TV

This week on Wesley Impact! TV we meet Meredith Scott and the Rev Dr Keith Garner explores Philippians.

Meredith's story
Wesley Community Services board member Meredith Scott talks about how she came to faith as a teenager, and how her experiences serving disadvantaged communities in Redfern and Surry Hills has given her a passion for community engagement and using her many skills to help others. Meredith also shares how she maintains her Christian focus as she lives a busy life which includes being a partner at Ernst & Young, wife and mother of two teenage children and being a member of several boards.

Wesley In-home Respite
Today we continue Peter and Vicki's story, and hear more about their experience of Wesley In-home Respite. Vicki shares how this service adds 'normality' to her life and gives her time out of the house for shopping and other essentials and confidence that her husband Peter is happy and well looked after while she is away.

Keith's reflection
The Rev Dr Keith Garner explores Philippians 3:12–14, looking particularly how and why we should train in godliness. We are reminded to keep our eyes on what is ahead and be ready for new challenges, and ensure our foundation is in Jesus, remembering  that he is with us and has gone before us.

Guest performers
Today we hear from Sharny Russell, an acclaimed Australian jazz pianist, vocalist, composer, music educator, ABC recording artist and APRA Award winner. Also performing is Greg Attwells, a seasoned performer of indie, folk and worship who has a deep desire to lead others to the feet of Jesus Christ with his music.
