Things changed for Zoe and Ryan after their Dad left. Their mum would still pick them up from school, but they no longer went home.
“It will be fun – it’s like camping!” their mum said.
The truth was that the family’s income left with their father. Their mum asked for an extension on the rent, but that didn’t last long.
At first they tried to stay with friends and neighbours but soon their only option for shelter was sleeping in the car.
That was until Wesley Mission got involved. Now, with counselling and help from their case worker, Zoe, Ryan and their mum have a safe place to live.
