Our team of ‘Heroes for Homelessness’ will take on the Tough Mudder Sydney 5K on Saturday 16 November–raising vital funds for our services including emergency accommodation at Wesley Edward Eagar Centre. And you are welcome to join us if you are brave enough!
Tough Mudder Sydney 5K is a shorter, more fun version of the original 20km course, with no ice or electricity obstacles, and a by-pass lane so you can skip any you like. But participants will still finish the day with a new appreciation of their own toughness and strength.
The goal is to navigate your way through as many muddy obstacles as you can out of a potential 13, over a five-kilometre course at scenic Glenworth Valley–one hour’s drive from Sydney.
Come along with us to this challenging but rewarding event if you want to:
- show your compassion for others
- bond with great people
- get muddy and have a laugh
- escape the ordinary
- do things you’ve never done before.
Even if you only have a moderate level of fitness, you can still take part.
Tough Mudder Sydney 5K is based on team work and camaraderie–you’ll work together with mates to finish the course. It’s the ultimate team experience.
Every dollar raised will go towards Wesley Homeless Services that support families doing it tough like Erin’s*.
After her marriage broke down and she battled thyroid cancer, Erin was forced to live in her car with her little daughter Kaitlyn.
Thanks to our supporters, Wesley Mission could offer them emergency accommodation. Then their case worker assisted them to find a modest unit to call home.
“It brought safety back into our lives,” Erin says. “We’re very thankful.”
Please consider helping more families and individuals who are battling homelessness by getting involved.
Two ways to take part
1. Register today to participate in the Tough Mudder Sydney 5K on 16 November fundraising for Wesley Mission’s homeless services.
2. If you can’t make it, but you’d like to show our homelessness heroes you’re with them in spirit, give a donation now towards Wesley Mission’s Tough Mudder fundraisers.
