Students show off skills at Wesley School for Seniors Spring Fair
Last week, students from Wesley School for Seniors shared their artistic and creative skills in front of an audience of family and friends.
Showcasing a wide range of activities from water colour painting through to cha-cha dancing, the event was filled with sounds of laughter and fun reminiscent of a high-school playground.
The delicious food prepared by students revealed a lifetime of experience in the kitchen, with one visitor expressing her delight at “the great variety of food from different cultures that was on offer.”
Those in attendance enjoyed the diversity of cultures on display with one student singing in Chinese, a French group song performance, while another ran a henna tattoo stall representing their Indian heritage.
A number of musical instrument performances, choir performances and trivia kept the crowd truly entertained.
One special event that captured the audience’s imagination was the fashion show, with student Shirley remarking, “I was impressed with all the elderly people coming forward, bold enough to show their fashion.”
Among the students in attendance was Eric, who summed up the day’s events by saying; “This was the first time we had the School for Seniors Spring Fair. It was really good and we received a lot of very good feedback”.
Thank you to all students and staff who gave their time and talents to make this wonderful event happen.
