Thanking Wesley Community Services' first Chair
At the recent Board Meeting on Tuesday, 2 May, Mark Scott AO tendered his resignation as a Director and Chair of Wesley Community Services Ltd. The meeting acknowledged the contribution that Mark has made over many years, since becoming a Board member in 2009. Mark became Honorary Treasurer upon the retirement of Dr Jim Pendlebury OAM. Rev Keith Garner AM, the Chief Executive Officer of Wesley Mission, thanked Mark for his enormous contribution, especially focusing upon his commitment, Christian dedication and personal involvement with the whole life of Wesley Mission.
“Mark will be remembered as the first Chair of Wesley Community Services and guiding us through some challenging times. I don’t think we could have asked for anyone better to have been our first Chair. Mark’s legacy is embodied in his desire for our work to be refreshed and renewed for the future. He has now taken on great responsibility in the NSW Education Department and we wish him and his family God’s richest blessing for the future” Keith said.
The Board made a presentation of a framed photograph which Mark received amidst the acclamation of all present. Mark Scott said it had been an honour to be Chair of the Board and to be engaged in Wesley Mission’s Word and deed ministry. Following his resignation the Board confirmed the appointment of Mr Michael Anderson as a Director and its new Chair.
