Wesley Mission Newcastle opens doors to flood victims
People affected by the recent flooding in Newcastle are invited to drop in to Wesley Mission’s McKenzie Centre this Thursday and Friday for warm showers, breakfast and social support.
Wesley Mission will open its doors to the victims of flood and storm damage on Thursday 23 April and Friday 24 April between 9 am–12 pm.
Wesley Mission volunteers will be helping people who need breakfast, social support, warm showers and the opportunity to charge their mobile phones.
People should bring their own toiletries, towels and phone chargers where possible, but we will provide toiletries and towels to those without.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of the Hunter,” said Wesley Mission CEO the Rev Dr Keith Garner.
“The storms, high winds and flooding have cut a swathe of devastation through Newcastle and the Hunter. However as in times past the people of the region have shown great resilience, compassion and determination.”
