Which bank is helping Wesley Mission give the joy of Christmas?
CommSec staff set a high bar for other Commonwealth Bank divisions yesterday, raising $8,500 to provide 140 Christmas food and gift hampers for struggling families this Christmas. This beats their 2014 effort of 120 hampers.
What a way to kick off the 2015 Commonwealth Bank Christmas Hamper program!
As Christmas approaches each year the Commonwealth Bank encourages all their staff to get involved. Not that they need much encouragement according to Executive Manager of Community Investments, Nathan Barker.
“Our staff are very generous with their support of the hamper program” he said.
So generous, the Commonwealth Bank donated over 2,400 hampers in 2014 and, if other teams follow CommSec’s lead, they will be donating even more this Christmas.
Toll logistics help out by delivering the hampers to Wesley Mission centres in Sydney and Newcastle, and also to Wesley Mission Victoria and Brisbane, UnitingCare in Western Australian, Tasmania and South Australia.
Through our work, Wesley Mission know that Christmas isn’t necessarily a happy time for everyone and hampers like these are a great way to reach out.
