The Global Financial Crisis shook many communities and businesses across Australia and Wesley Mission was no exception. The financial year was challenging and played no small part in the decision to undertake a strategic review of the finances, structure and way of operating at Wesley Mission. It also provided the opportunity to advocate on behalf of the most vulnerable in our society as many services, such as financial counselling, accommodation and employment services, reported that clients were still feeling the pain of the financial blow. Through tough times God’s goodness prevailed and work was extended, particularly in the area of suicide prevention services.
