Kelly found it hard to talk to anyone about what she had faced as a child. Not feeling her home was safe, she headed to a life on the streets—a decision that Wesley Mission’s latest research shows more and more young people who don’t believe they are safe at home are making. Many of these people, like those Alwin has befriended at Martin Place, are escaping pain and abuse and just long for acceptance, security and safety. In a year when Wesley Mission focuses on advocacy, our call is to stand alongside our homeless community and give a voice to those that others so easily cast aside.
