Best of 2014: Resurrection Year
This week on Wesley Impact! TV we meet Sheridan Voysey and the Rev Dr Keith Garner explores Matthew.
Author Sheridan Voysey had the dream of starting a unique Christian radio show that would showcase different people and provide insight for people into the Christian life. After ten years his dream became a reality in 2006. Throughout this time, Sheridan and his wife were also going through a very personal painful journey: the shattered dream of not being able to have a family. Sheridan shares his personal journey in a book, Resurrection Year.
Wesley Mission story—Wesley Hospital
Today we hear the story of Peter, who approached Wesley Mission to help him overcome a 20-year alcohol addiction. Peter shares that life following his journey through Wesley Hospital’s drug and alcohol addiction program is fantastic, and he is now training to be an Assistant in Nursing (AIN). He now has more confidence and wants others to see that addictions can be overcome.
The Rev Dr Keith Garner explores a part of the Christmas story that is not often covered at Christmas time—the escape of Joseph, Mary and Jesus into Egypt as they fled from King Herod. Herod's opposition to the love of God contrasts with the gentle love of Jesus. At Christmas, we are reminded that despite the hostility we encounter from the world, God's love always triumphs.
Today we hear from gifted Australian performer Ann-Maree Keefe. Ann-Maree is an acclaimed song writer, writing prolifically over the years to amass a large body of work including her solo material, worship songs for the wider church and even kids songs. We also hear from talented performer Steve McPherson. Steve is the CEO of Hillsong Music Publishing in Sydney, Australia and has extensive experience as a performer, producer, songwriter and publisher.
