Laughing at ourselves

10 November 2013 Wesley Impact! TV

This week on Wesley Impact! TV we meet author, Glenda Rouxel, and the Rev Dr Keith Garner explores the book of Isaiah.

Glenda’s story
Glenda Rouxel is a youth pastor, a mother of four children of her own and a foster mother to two children. She is also now an author. Her humorous novel, Amber Glass, follows the story of a keen Christian woman Amber Glass who is passionate about serving God in whatever way she can. Glenda shares with Keith the personal journey that led her to write the book as she stepped out in faith, leaving her career as a teacher to take the time to write. She also talks about the people close to her that inspire characters and the benefit of learning to laugh at yourself—elements she brings to life in her novel.

Wesley Mission story—Wesley Dalmar
Wesley Mission’s foster care services have recently expanded into Maitland. This much needed service aims to help children in the local area find a loving, stable foster family. Foster carers Michelle and Steven talk about their life as foster carers and the joy of seeing their foster child, Michael, grow and develop. Michael came to them when he was four months old and he is now in year seven.

Keith's reflection
The Rev Dr Keith Garner leads this week’s sermon on the call of Isaiah in the third of a six week series looking at the prophets of the Old Testament.

Guest performers
This week we welcome gifted Australian performer Ann-Maree Keefe to the show. Ann-Maree is an acclaimed song writer, writing prolifically over the years to amass a large body of work including her solo material, worship songs for the wider church and even kids songs. We also hear from Wesley Impact! TV's talented singer and worship leader Deborah Ezzy.
