COVID-19: Statement from Wesley Mission – 25 August 2021

Wesley Mission is partnering with tenants at 17-19 James Street, Windale, to prioritise wellbeing in a coordinated health response led by Hunter New England Health after a tenant living in one of the units was recently confirmed to have COVID-19.

The public health unit advises that anyone who has visited the property from the evening of Friday 20 August to the morning of Tuesday 24 August must get tested and isolate until a negative result is received. This includes any visitors to this location.

The confirmed tenant is safely isolating off-site, and testing will take place for all other 29 tenants on Wednesday, 25 August. While tenants are being tested and continue to isolate, they will receive support jointly from the local Wesley Community Housing team, Hunter New England Health and other agencies in collaboration.

As we prioritise keeping tenants updated with the latest advice, more information will be shared publicly in due course and as the health response is enacted.
