Faith, food and friendship
Driven by faith, food is given in an act of friendship but at Wesley Connect we provide much more. From the Wesley Centre, in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, staff and volunteers connect with people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless by giving them food and essentials while linking them to other services they need.
It’s a very practical way to serve our community and a great way for individuals and businesses alike to help support marginalised people in our city.
How can you help?
By donating to Wesley Connect you’re strengthening the community and having a direct impact on individuals and families in need. It’s often taken for granted but hunger is an everyday problem for those less fortunate and food donations are needed year-round. Thanks to your generosity, we are able to provide a bag of non-perishable food items along with information on other services and a listening ear for all.
Right now we are in urgent need of:
- Tinned meat/vegetable soups
- Pasta and cook-in sauces
- Tinned vegetables - corn, peas, carrots, mixed vegetables, beetroot, tomatoes
- Long life milk
- Breakfast cereals
- Tinned fish (such as tuna, sardines and salmon)
- Tinned meat (such as corned beef, ham and spam)
- Sweet biscuits, savoury biscuits, rice crackers
- Tea bags and instant coffee.
