A positive influence

6 November 2016 Wesley Impact! TV

This week on Wesley Impact! TV we talk to Joe Alvaro, full time teacher and veteran Wesley Lifeline volunteer. Emily Rex is an up-and-coming artist; she performs ‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus’.

We also return to Luke’s Gospel, to a passage where some Sadducees came to Jesus with a question.

Special guest: Joe Alvaro

We talk with Joe Alvaro, winner of the 2015 Volunteer of the Year award. Joe has been a volunteer at Lifeline for over 20 years. He talks about how he started at Lifeline; he was fresh out of university and wanted to put his faith for Jesus Christ into action.

Joe also talks about how Lifeline helped him become a better teacher: “It gave me the skills to listen. You should always listen with the intent to understand, not listen with the intent to respond and tell people what to do,” he says.

Guest performer: Emily Rex

We welcome Emily Rex as she performs the classic ‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus’.

Keith’s message: Married at the resurrection

Rev Keith Garner reads from Luke. The passage tells of some Sadducees that came to Jesus with a question about what happens in a family when a brother dies and who will be married at the resurrection.
