Christ Mission Possible

8 December 2013 Wesley Impact! TV

This week on Wesley Impact! TV we meet Martin Beckett and the Rev Dr Keith Garner looks at John the Baptist.

Martin's story
Martin Beckett grew up in housing commission in a culture of poverty and need. As a young man he was determined not to be poor and felt a real call from God to be a pastor. Martin's desire to be 'not just a Sunday church' has led him to take on the role of CEO of Christ Mission Possible, an organisation that feeds 7000 people a week in their work with homeless people in the western suburbs of Sydney.

Wesley Mission story—Wesley Noreen Towers
Lellah, her husband and their seven children never expected to be homeless but an ongoing illness for Lellah's husband and a sudden rental increase changed all that. Through a contact they heard about Wesley Noreen Towers, which offers supported accommodation for families who are homeless. For Lellah and her family, it has become a shelter in the storm.

Keith's reflection
The Rev Dr Keith Garner leads this week's sermon on John the Baptist in the first of a two week series in the lead up to Christmas.
