By Rev Dr Keith Garner

Continuing in our four week examination of the Book of James, today’s sermon comes from James 2:14-17 and deals with James’ statement that, “faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” It is a statement that fights against the religious traditions of James’ time period yet resonates just as strongly with us today. The Rev Dr Keith Garner encourages us to understand that true faith cannot be separated from actions. A healthy church needs to be alert and aware of need and quick to meet those needs; not because works are required to appease God, but because a living faith will always stretch out a hand to everyone across all boundaries.
