Congratulations Wesley OOSH Educators Day winners!

A huge congratulation to Ben (Wesley OOSH Epping West), Chelsea (Wesley OOSH North Kellyville) and Vickie (Wesley OOSH Wyong), three of our Wesley Out of School Hours Care (Wesley OOSH) educators who’ve been selected the winners of Wesley OOSH Educators Day.

For National OOSH Educators Day, we asked families to nominate a Wesley OOSH educator who has gone above and beyond to support and nurture their child.

Receiving 144 nominations from families, we want to recognise all Wesley OOSH nominees and thank them for their dedicated service to caring for our Wesley OOSH children. Both Ben and Chelsea received over 10 nominations each – what an honour!

“Thank you for your energy and enthusiasm in supporting the children and families in each of your services. You’re making an important difference every day, helping every child we serve to grow and become a confident learner,” said Stu Cameron, Wesley Mission CEO and Superintendent.

Meet our dedicated winners

Chelsea, who has a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, has been with Wesley OOSH for two years. Nominated for her dedication and consistency, Chelsea has built foundational relationships with the children she cares for through genuine care and respect.

“From day one when my son started kindy last year she made him feel welcome. She is always happy to see my kids and their faces always light up when they see her. This beautiful educator has always gone above and beyond for my children and their needs,” said Kayla, Wesley OOSH parent.

Vickie, who’s been part of the Wesley OOSH family for two-and-a-half years, began as a Senior Educator in March 2020 and was promoted to Centre Coordinator in January 2022. Holding a Certificate lll in Early Childhood Education and Care, Vickie constantly strives to create a safe and exciting place for her Wesley OOSH children, building strong relationships with the children and their families. She’s also known for her caring leadership skills, providing a listening ear and helping hand to all educators.

“Vickie has gone above and beyond to make us welcome at Wyong [Wesley] OOSH. It’s so comforting to know that Sally is supported, comforted and cared for by such lovely people,” said Wesley OOSH parent, Natalie.

Ben has been with Wesley OOSH for over three years, starting in a casual role and within a year moved into a Senior Educator role. Holding a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, Ben has shown immense leadership skills, always stepping up to help when needed and prioritising the needs of Wesley OOSH children to create a safe, happy and nurturing environment so they can flourish.

“I’ve chosen him as he always goes above and beyond to help Almila feel smart, successful and appreciated. [He] makes sure she knows that he is there for her all the time,” Derya said, Wesley OOSH parent.

We’re so proud of all our Wesley OOSH Educators and want to thank all those who took the time to nominate a Wesley OOSH educator.
