The Rev Dr Rick Dacey looks at Matthew’s narrative of Jesus walking on water and explores the deeper meaning behind this miraculous event. We see the promise that is held out for the disciples who are helplessly tossed about on their boat by tumultuous waters and consider how, in difficult circumstances, Jesus is able to give them all they need: faith, reassurance and hope. This same promise of Jesus—to always be with us and give us all we need—rings true for us today.
